How to Store and Protect Funko Pops, Boxes and Signed Collectibles

Good storage starts with the box, the figure and any signature being treated as parts of the same collectible. A protector can help with everyday handling, but your display location and the way you move an item matter too.

Choose a suitable protector

Check the dimensions of the boxed Pop before choosing a protector or rigid case. Larger figures and multipacks need different sizes. The box should fit without being squeezed; never force corners or press against the display window to make it fit.

Pick a stable display location

Use a clean, dry shelf away from direct sunlight, radiators and places prone to damp. Keep boxes away from drinks and water sources. Leave enough room to lift an item out without scraping neighbouring boxes, and avoid tall stacks that could tip or put weight on the boxes beneath.

Handle the box gently

Use clean, dry hands and support the box from underneath. Avoid gripping the window or pulling on the top flap. If you prefer to keep a figure boxed, there is no need to open it for routine dusting.

For a removable outer protector, follow its maker's cleaning instructions. Avoid applying household cleaners or liquid directly to the cardboard, printed surfaces or window. If something is stuck to the box or the surface is damaged, ask for advice before attempting a repair.

Take extra care with signed Pops

Do not rub, polish or apply cleaning products to an autograph. Avoid sliding a tight protector across a signed window. Keep any certificate, authentication number and supporting paperwork associated with the correct item, and store photographs of the signature and box as part of your collection record.

Keep a simple collection record
